Adventures

Water Adventures

This week Keaton's friend Tory was out of school for Spring Break, so we had to do lots of fun things! We needed to just get out and do things anyways, or Keaton gets crazy and I get crazy lol. So, this week we made our own back-yard beach one day, and went to the Splash Pad in Gonzales at Jambalaya Park. We had a blast doing both :). Keaton loves being in the water and I love being out in the sun and water and miss the beach so much, so it is a win win for us both! We will be doing this hopefully lots more/ a few times more lol before the baby gets here.

Dinosaur Adventure Park

Jason had Thursday off this week due to Easter and Good Friday, so we had planned to go to the Zoo to the "Dinosaur Park"-as Keaton repeatedly said- and we were going to go to the cool zoo splash park that just recently opened up for the season. Due to weather we decided to just do the Dinosaurs and monkeys-per keaton's request. We had to run a few errands before and he would not let us forgot/ he kept asking and asking and asking when we were going to get to the dinosaur park. Anytime we stopped he would look out the window and say "dinosaur park...ugh...no....mom, dinosaur park ok!" lol He is a mess. We eventually got there and the zoo was PACKED! It must have been every school in NOLA's field trip day! Good thing we were just going to the dinosaurs! So...how did Keaton do with that....ummm...he thought they were real and didn't like them too much, Jason scared him with one also...of course..it's a dad thing I guess, BUT he did love digging for fossils. And he loved the reptile house, we rode the train which is always a favorite, and the monkeys put on a show for us! Check out our pics and videos!

Check out: Jason's favorite snake (top left), The two-headed snake (right next to Jason's fav.), Keaton with a "fwagon"(aka: komodo dragon), and all the cool iguana's, lizards, snakes, frog, turtles, etc.

Just a few of us monkey-ing around! Love the two on the bottom of my cheeser's...same faces!!

This next one is the Dinosaur Park. Keaton freaking out at the beginning, petting the dinosaur to see it isn't real (still didn't help much lol), him in a cave, him freaking out again (bottom middle left), and the picture he took of me and Jason :)

Here are my little archaeologists digging for fossils! Love these guys!

And of course....we can't forget the pictures Keaton took of the trip :)

oh ya...and the ones in the car

We had a blast even though there were a few freak-outs...not too bad though! Love my family!!!

Ms. Heather's Strawberry Patch

As you can see, we had a fabulous time at the strawberry patch (mainly playing in the corn bucket lol). We went with Amanda and baby Austin Crowther to the strawberry patch this past Wednesday and had a blast! I love going to Ms. Heather's Patch ( http://thfarms.com/mrs.-heather-s-strawberry-farm.html)!! This is our 3rd year going and we will keep going! We picked a flat of strawberries, you get to eat as many as you want along the way, we got to see farm animals, jump on a giant trampoline thing, swing, slide, zip line, face paint, play in the corn bucket, etc.! There is so much to do and we always have a blast! And the weather was gorgeous! I am glad we could share the experience with Amanda and baby Austin. And, Keaton had a blast as you can see so that makes it all worth it no matter what!

Date Night, Jam Session, Hair

This week was full of mini little adventures between date night, Lee Lee coming to visit, weekly story time, sandbox/beach making, jason's race, hair cut, home depot kids club, etc.

For date night this week, we went to Baton Rouge to watch LSU compete in the NCAA Regionals competition for our region. They were FANTASTIC and took first! They will be competing at Nationals in Birmingham. All the girls were amazing and it makes me miss gym and coaching so much!!! Thank you Jason for taking me! Then we went out to eat at Chimes in Baton Rouge afterward which was delicious, and Keaton had a BLAST with Lee Lee! Date night=success!

Hair cut! That is quite the story! I went and got a ton of hair chopped off and will send it off to locks for love or something....but....the long story part is I went to the lady 2x. I got a ton chopped off and showed her two different pictures of what I wanted...trying to combine the two (front and back of hair), but our lines of communication got crossed and I came home feeling good, but terrible about my hair cut. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't what I wanted, so I went back the next day (Friday-Saturday) and showed her one picture and she fixed it in about 5/10 min. and now I love it! It is drastic compared to what it was the day before and what I have been used to for the past almost 3 years, but it at the same time is what I had for about 4 years prior to that lol. It is growing on me and I am adjusting to it...and.. I think I am loving it! :)

(It definitely looks better not windblown lol , and better in person!)

Last cute little adventure was Jason and Keaton's jam session! Lee Lee brought up our old guitar hero guitar that looks a lot like daddy's electric guitar so Keaton was feeling so cool! I will have to figure out how to post videos to my blog lol and get that up here...he was so cute!! What a rockstar!

Small taste of the jam session until my phone said it couldn't hold any more lol

All Aboard!!!

Our most recent "big" adventure was a couple weeks ago. Jason went on a trip as a chaperone with the youth from church to Nauvoo, Illinois, and Keaton and I took a trip to visit Lee Lee and Pops.

(Jason had a blast in Nauvoo, and I may even convince him to do a page about it to let y'all know...he took some great pictures and saw lots of snow...and the youth had a blast! They had quite the adventure trying to get home...I will let him tell you about that)

While visiting with Lee Lee and Pops, we went shopping some, did our Home Depot Kids project, looked at guns, played with puppies, went to church with them, saw Aunt Amanda, etc., but the best thing little Keaton got to do was to ride the train around Columbia and see horses!! He LOVED both!! He was pretending to be sheriff Callie from disney junior and had a blast! We wore that kid out all weekend. But here are some pictures from our adventure!

We had a blast and will definitely do it again! We missed our La Place Mardi Gras parade and were a little sad about that, but this was awesome and so worth it!! Keaton still talks about how much fun he had and talks about saying "choo choo aboard" all the time! Love making memories with this guy! And thank you Lee Lee and Pops!!!
